AV8 Flight Organizer Instructions

(Works best on Microsoft Explorer)

To operate, you must fill in your unique access code, then click "Acitivate". If  valid, the code field will indicate  "Proceed", orherwise it will indicate "Invalid".

Then, for best results, you first need to fill in the fields on the right side (above "Flight Cost is"). For these, enter only cost per statute mile or cost per hour (not both). Make sure you enter dollar and cents values without the decimal. After that you can fill in the lower fields anytime and click "Continue" for the final total.

Next, you need to fill in a departure identifier in the "Enter an Ident" field and click "Continue". If you do not know the ident, you can find it with the search function. (Airports outside the USA require the full four letter identifier)

For the destination, you need to type in its identifier in the same field and click "Continue" again. You can repeat this procedure for up to 6 legs.

You will notice that whenever a destination is entered a red diamond appears in the Airport Terminal (AT)column. This is a direct link to applicable aviation data for that airport. Additional information, including alternative airports can also be accessed through the "View Routing" link below, which also displays current TFRs at USA locations.

For added convenience a "Return" button is located under the routing table. This takes you back to the starting point, eliminating the need to re-enter your departure identifier

Additional Costs are listed below Flight Costs. Initially six common categories are listed. You can fill in the appropriate amounts (no decimal) and leave the others blank. Click "Continue" to apply. However, should you have any particular cost category which is not already labled, you can overwrite any unused label with your own description, (ie "De-Ice" could replace "Ramp Fees"), then enter the cost and click "Continue".

Although the main values (Flight Cost, Tax and Total Cost) are automatically calculated there may be a need to sub-calculate some additional costs (ie Rate times Hours for Holding Cost). For this there is a direct link to a handy calculator. For date reference, a link to a dynamic calander is also available.

The quotation can by quickly be transmitted to a customer either by Fax or Email. To Fax, just hit the "Print" button, then send the document. To Email, copy the screen picture to your clipboard by simultaneously pressing"Ctrl ", "Alt" and "Print Screen", then paste to a Word document that can be attached to an Email message.
